Microsoft and Sony’s fight started in the early 2000s with the best selling Sony’s Ps2 and the Xbox. The Xbox was new in the game. It was not that good because of the controller of Xbox it was not at all comfortable and was very big. The Xbox wasn't that successful in the 2000s
Xbox 360 and PS3
In 2005 both Sony and Microsoft revealed their new consoles Xbox 360 and ps3. This war was very interesting as nobody was ready to surrender. The PS3 was not that successful in the market. Not only because of its higher rate but also because it didn’t have exclusives like Xbox 360 had gears of wars, Halo, and much more.
Ps3 was not successful in the market and on the other hand, Xbox 360 had one problem: ‘The red ring of death’.
Red Ring of Death
The "Red Ring of Death" problem was a massive hardware issue that caused a huge number of Xbox 360 consoles to stop working. The system would flash a ring of three red lights around its power button on the front face (seen above). Thus the nickname. But Microsoft didn’t try to fix it on Xbox 360 the issue was fixed in Xbox 360s. In 2013, Microsoft released Xbox 360 Elite. The difference was that it contained the HDMI cable in the box. Sony said that the PS3 was their biggest mistake. Sony tried once more to make the PS3 successful. In 2009 Sony introduced the PS3 slim which was slimmer and was successful.
By seeing Sony back in the game, Microsoft launched Xbox 360 slim which was much more successful than PS3, Sony stepped back. Xbox 360 became more successful than Ps3.
PS4 AND XBOX ONE
In 2013, both Microsoft and Sony released their consoles that were very powerful and available with new games. Sony’s PS4 was like the most sold console ever; it was more powerful than Xbox one and had many exclusive games that were the most loved. Xbox one didn’t have any exclusive games and their console was slow but Microsoft was not at all ready to give up. They started to work on a new console. In 2016, Microsoft released its Xbox One S, and to compete with the Xbox one S Sony released PS4 Slim and pro which was very successful. Microsoft now tried once more and released Xbox One X which also not successful, and this time Sony won.
NINTENDO SWITCH
In the fight of Xbox and Playstation, Nintendo was the one who won in 2020. It released its new console Nintendo switch which was much more successful than the two. Nintendo never tried to interfere in Xbox and PlayStation. They both fought each other and Nintendo took it all.
